1,536 Wh in 32 lbs is the best watt-hours-per-pound figure in our database, and at $0.55/Wh it is the second-cheapest energy we track — but it does not expand, and the cycle rating is measured to a lower bar than its rivals'.

The weight figure is the headline

1,536 Wh in 32 lbs works out to 48 watt-hours per pound, against 45 for the Explorer 1000 v2 and 43 for the DELTA 3 Ultra. Jackery has held the weight crown in the 1 kWh class for years; this extends it into a class above, and it is the reason to choose this over a 2 kWh unit you will not want to move.

Read the cycle rating carefully

Jackery publishes 6,000 cycles — the highest number in our database — but measured to 70% of original capacity. EcoFlow's 4,000-cycle figures are measured to 80%. Those are different tests and the numbers are not directly comparable: a pack at 70% has lost nearly a third of its usable energy. It is still a long-lived cell; just don't read 6,000 against 4,000 as a 50% advantage.

What 1,536 Wh actually covers

At 85% inverter efficiency you get about 1,306 Wh of usable output. That is a household fridge for roughly four days at 324 Wh/day, a humidified CPAP for 2.2 nights at 600 Wh/night, or a full day of essentials — fridge, lighting, router, phones — with a little to spare. A 1,500 W load runs for about 52 minutes.

Solar is the weak spot

400 W of maximum input on a 1,536 Wh pack means a full refill needs close to six hours of good sun — at the realistic 60–70% of panel rating a 400 W array returns about 240–280 W, so 1,536 Wh takes roughly 5.5 to 6.5 hours. The 1 kWh DELTA 3 accepts 500 W for two-thirds the capacity. If the unit is meant to sustain itself off-grid rather than be recharged from a wall, that ratio matters more than the price.

The Verdict

The Explorer 1500 v2 occupies a capacity class almost nobody else builds for, and it does so at a price per watt-hour that undercuts every 1 kWh unit on the market. 1,536 Wh covers a fridge for four days or a humidified CPAP for two nights, and at 32 lbs it is genuinely the lightest way to own that much energy. The catch is that what you buy is what you keep — there is no expansion path — and the 400 W solar ceiling means it refills slowly for its size.

Bottom line

Buy it if 1.5 kWh is your final answer and you value carrying it. If your needs might grow, buy something expandable instead — that is the one thing no sale price fixes later.
