The Jackery Explorer 300 Plus is a compact 288 Wh device-charging workhorse with two USB-C ports and LiFePO4 longevity — best for tent trips where weight and simplicity beat raw power.
By Portable Power Guide · Updated
8.3 lbs with a fold-flat handle — heavier than the RIVER 2 by half a pound, but still a one-hand carry that fits under a car seat. Nothing else in Jackery's line is this easy to just take.
Two USB-C plus one USB-A and a single AC outlet. The dual USB-C is the differentiator — most ~300 Wh units, including the RIVER 2, offer one — but the lone AC outlet means a power strip if you run two mains devices.
About 120 minutes from empty on wall power — fine overnight, but twice the RIVER 2's 60. Solar tops out at 100 W, so a panel refill of the 288 Wh pack is at best a three-hour job in strong sun.
288 Wh at 85% efficiency is roughly 245 usable Wh: a phone (about 15 Wh per charge) more than fifteen times, a 40 W CPAP without humidifier about 6 hours (288 × 0.85 ÷ 40 ≈ 6.1), a 60 W laptop about 4 hours.
The Explorer 300 Plus is the tidiest small unit Jackery makes: 288 Wh — about 245 usable at 85% efficiency — with modern LiFePO4 chemistry and two USB-C ports that cover most modern device kits without adapters. Against the RIVER 2 it trades $60, one hour of recharge speed, and a second AC outlet for 32 Wh of extra capacity and that second USB-C port. A 60 W laptop runs about 4 hours (288 × 0.85 ÷ 60 ≈ 4.1); the 300 W inverter keeps anything with a heating element off the table.
Bottom line
A solid pick if dual USB-C matters to you; if it doesn't, the cheaper, faster-charging RIVER 2 wins on the spec sheet.
The RIVER 2's replacement — lighter, same hour-long wall recharge.
Ultralight weekend unit with a 60-minute wall recharge.
Twice the inverter of its size class, but the shortest warranty here.
The only sub-300 Wh unit that expands — to 858 Wh with an extra battery.
