For a unit that lives in a garage or an RV bay, the $200 and the expansion room are the better trade. If you move it between house and vehicle, 50 lbs versus 62.4 lbs starts to matter.

Here it isn’t close. The DELTA 3 is $300 cheaper, charges 24 minutes faster, has a longer-lived cell, weighs 7.7 lbs less, and expands to 5,000 Wh where the AC180 doesn’t expand at all. Bluetti’s answer is 128 more watt-hours.
What do they actually run?
Runtimes track capacity, so within a class these brands are interchangeable on endurance. Usable energy is rated capacity × 0.85 for AC:

Home essentials assumes 2,192 Wh/day — fridge, router, lights, laptop, phones and a CPAP, derived in the home backup guide.
Two things fall out. First, at 2 kWh the two brands are indistinguishable on runtime, so that class is purely a price and expansion argument, which Bluetti wins. Second, no single unit here covers two days of essentials — the DELTA Pro comes closest at 1.4 — which is why the expansion ceiling matters more than base capacity for backup duty.

Where EcoFlow wins
Recharge speed, everywhere. 56 minutes for the DELTA 3 against 80 for the AC180; 78 minutes for the DELTA 2 Max against 90 for the AC200L. Roughly a 2:1 advantage at the 1 kWh class.
Expansion ceiling. The DELTA Pro reaches 25,000 Wh. Bluetti’s best in our database is the AC200L at 8,192 Wh. For home backup, where a single day of essentials costs about 2,600 Wh, that ceiling decides whether multi-day coverage is possible at all.
The value floor. $0.68/Wh on the DELTA 3 is the cheapest position in our whole database, and it comes with the longest cycle rating here — 4,000 cycles to 80%.

Where Bluetti wins
The 2 kWh class. $200 less for identical capacity, plus 2,048 Wh more expansion headroom. If that’s your class, Bluetti is simply the better buy.
Raw capacity per dollar at 1 kWh — 1,152 Wh in the AC180 is the most in that class in our database, if capacity is all you’re counting. The DELTA 3 still beats it on price, speed, weight, cell life and expandability, so this is a narrow win.
The trap in Bluetti’s range
The AC180 does not expand. The AC200L expands to 8,192 Wh. Same brand, same naming convention, completely different upgrade path.
EcoFlow is more consistent here — DELTA 3 to 5 kWh, DELTA 2 Max to 6.1 kWh, DELTA Pro to 25 kWh — but check the specific model either way. Assuming a brand behaves consistently across its range is how people end up unable to add capacity when the first real outage teaches them they need it.
Where they’re the same
Both ship LiFePO4 across current lines. Both use pure sine wave inverters. Both have real US operations and multi-year warranties. Both sell solar generator bundles that are simply the same power station with panels in the box.
Decision rules
Choose EcoFlow when:
- You’re in the 1 kWh class — the DELTA 3 wins on every axis but raw capacity
- You need multi-day home backup — only the DELTA Pro’s 25 kWh ceiling gets there
- Recharge speed matters
- You want the longest cell life (4,000 cycles)
Choose Bluetti when:

- Capacity per dollar is the single metric you care about
- You’ve confirmed the specific model expands (AC200L yes, AC180 no)
What about app control and ecosystem?
Both brands ship phone apps over Wi-Fi and Bluetooth that show state of charge, input and output wattage, and let you toggle outputs and adjust charge speed remotely. EcoFlow’s is generally the more developed of the two, with more granular control over charge rate and reserve levels.
Whether that matters depends entirely on the use case. For a unit that lives in a garage waiting for an outage, being able to check its charge from indoors is genuinely useful. For a camping unit sitting three feet from you, the app is mostly a curiosity.
We’re not scoring app quality beyond that. It changes with every firmware release, and repeating other reviewers’ impressions as if they were our own findings isn’t something this site does.
What about the expansion batteries themselves?
Worth understanding before you rely on an expansion ceiling.
Add-on batteries are brand- and model-specific — an EcoFlow expansion won’t work with a Bluetti, and within a brand they don’t always cross generations. They also cost roughly what the base unit does per watt-hour, so “expandable to 25 kWh” describes a possibility, not an included capability.
The practical reading: buy expandability as insurance against needing more later, not as capacity you already have. And check the specific expansion battery is still sold for your model before counting on it — this is a category where product lines turn over quickly.
How we compared these
All figures come from our product spec database of manufacturer-published specifications. Runtimes are calculated, not measured: usable energy is rated capacity × 0.85 for AC loads, divided by the device’s average draw, with compressor appliances duty-cycled rather than run at nameplate wattage.
We have not tested these units in the field. You won’t find noise figures or long-term reliability claims here, because we’d have to make them up. Prices are MSRP and this category discounts heavily.
On price
All figures are MSRP, and both brands discount 30–40% on major sale events — often not simultaneously. Given how close several of these matchups are, the brand that’s on sale is frequently the right answer regardless of the list-price verdict.
